Why Current Transducers are required in Welding
In welding, it is important to be able to know and control electricity. This is because welding requires high heat of over 3,000°C, and electricity that can generate such high heat is required.
There fore, accurate measurement of electricity to improve the quality of welding is an important point in the welding industry.
The Role of Current Transducers in Welding
Resistance welding and plasma arc welding require large amounts of current. At this time, the role of the current transducer is important. If we can know “how much high current can be transmitted with high quality”, it will be possible to weld strong and lasting.
In resistance welding, heat is generated by the contact resistance of the joint that sends a large current to the weld, but after heating the joint to a molten state, it is welded by pressing with mechanical pressure. Simply put, it is a kind of pressure welding that uses electricity.
Here, J&D Current Transducers measure and control the current level with high accuracy, enabling strong and lasting welding of resistance welding.
Plasma arc welding uses the principle of heating the gas at high temperatures(conductivity) to mix electrons in the gas atoms. At this time, plasma arc welding requires a high current of 100A~600A.
J&D Current Transducers will have an important role in precise and powerful welding as it enables accurate measurement and control of current level.
